Rep. Keith Ellison, Deputy Chair of the DNC and vice-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, reintroduced H.R. 676, the Expanded and Improved Medicare for All bill! Watch him take over lead sponsorship of the bill on the floor of the House.
Ellison, the first Muslim to be elected to the U.S. Congress and the first African-American House member from Minnesota, is assuming the role of lead sponsor after former Rep. John Conyers stepped down late last year amid allegations of sexual harassment.
Ellison takes over H.R. 676 at a time of enormous momentum for single payer; the bill is currently cosponsored by a record 121 representatives, fully 63% of House Democrats. Dems who have not signed the bill are now in the minority.
Now is a great time to make waves on social media for the bill – please like and share the Facebook video of Ellison’s speech on the House floor.
